AGS is Providing a Young Guitarist a Scholarship Opportunity for the Berklee Summer Programs – Guitar Sessions
The Artisan Guitar Show is proud to sponsor a full scholarship for one promising young guitarist to attend the Berklee Summer Programs – Guitar Sessions, taking place August 10–14, 2026. This scholarship covers tuition, housing, registration fees, and includes a travel allowance. The selected student will be honored onstage during the 2026 Artisan Guitar Show, April 10–12, and must be present to receive the award.
We’re inviting our community to help us identify outstanding young players who would benefit from this opportunity. If you know a dedicated student ages 15 to 21 with at least six months of playing experience, we encourage you to direct them to this application submission page.
Students who choose to apply will be asked to submit:
- A brief letter describing their playing background and how this scholarship would support their growth
- A one (1) song video performance sample. An audio recording will also be accepted. The applicant’s performance demo should be a solo guitar piece. The performance demos can be from the genres as follows:
- Classical (e.g. Sor, Tarrega, Carcassi)
- Contemporary acoustic (e.g. Tommy Emmanuel, Andy McKee)
- Jazz chord-melody (e.g. Joe Pass, Barney Kessel)
- Two letters of recommendation, including one from a music educator or other music professional
All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of music educators and industry professionals, who will select the 2026 scholarship recipient. A space in the Berklee Guitar Sessions program has already been secured for the awardee, and all tuition, housing, and registration fees are fully covered. Submissions are due by March 15, 2026.
